Top SA PR firm rebrands

Introducing marcusbrewster

South Africa’s most awarded PR agency, Marcus Brewster Publicity, announces a change to its corporate livery. The firm will henceforth be known as marcusbrewster.

Commenting on the amended brand name, company chairman Brewster said: We felt it was necessary to make the change as our old name had become a misnomer in terms of our service offering. Additionally, we want to signal new opportunities and directions for the business.

Started in 1991, Brewster’s company has evolved from being a specialist publicity-only shop to one of the industry’s most acclaimed full-service public relations firms. The company has expanded from its consumer/lifestyle PR beginnings and today encompasses a thriving corporate PR practice area. Twenty years on, marcusbrewster numbers several blue-chip firms amongst its client roster, for whom it provides investor relations, reputation management, crisis communications, social media, cause-related marketing, lobbying and public affairs amongst a bouquet of PR specialisations.

Says Brewster: It is no longer appropriate to call ourselves a publicity consultancy, as that beggars the diversity of services we offer.

In the macro-context, Brewster notes that the name-change now also signals new business playing fields.

We have been offered a variety of revenue opportunities via JV and licence, some of which fall into our supply chain and others in ancillary industries. We want to leverage a company platform where these new business interests can be housed.

Named the 2010 AdReview PR Consultancy of the Year and the UK-based PRCA’s Global Consultancy of the Year 2010: South Africa, marcusbrewster set a new industry record at the 2011 PRISM Awards for PR Excellence, with an unprecedented 14 campaign wins across 11 different category specialisations.

Some of the firm’s clients include Mango, MTN and Johns Hopkins Health and Education in South Africa.
